Both the routers are wireless - but I wouldnt know how to go about doing this.

The main router is a TP Link WN861 and the other is a Thomson TG585

Iinitially, attempting to do this set up might sound confusing but a call to tech support at Thompson would be very helpful, as they can walk you through the setup steps. Just tell them that you want to convert their router into a wireless access point and relocate it within the range of your PC.
The following two URLs will give you the basic information behind what you need to do.

if your router is wireless "n" and you have a wireless "n" pci card you should in theory get 300Mbs which would average out at 150Mbs in reality it would be speeds around 78Mbs between pci card and router i use tplink TL-WN951N
    TL-WN951N
my router is wireless "n" the performance is excellent no drop in signal hardly ever and i am 3 storeys away from the router i average 70 -120 Mbs.
