Internet suddenly stopped working

Ok I'm finally back from my thanksgiving vacation and thank you all for the suggestions but still nothing seems to be working.

Chev65: I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with the DNS servers because my laptop has the exact same ipconfig as my desktop (more or less) and the internet is running fine from my laptop. In fact, I'll post the ipconfig /all for both of them right now. The first shot is of my laptop's ipconfig and the second one is of my desktop's. I also tried flushing my DNS and automatically entering it (just in case) and the problem persisted.

Also, I'm attaching a screenshot of my configuration and network and sharing center with both my wireless usb thingy and my ethernet cord plugged in as well as the ipconfig /all with both of them plugged in. As you can see, the wireless usb stick has no trouble connecting to my wireless router (which is OVS05) and the connection is strong but the network still shows up as unidentified network.

EvilOzzmess: I can't set up a new LAN connection in the network and sharing center because it searches for networks to configure but nothing ever comes up...

I'm suspecting myself that it's a hardware burnout problem as when the internet shut off, I was literally just streaming a youtube video and no software updates or restarts or installs of any sort were taking place. I think that if I can't figure out the problem by Monday I'll take the desktop into a shop and hope they can find the problem. I'd love to be able to fix it myself but I'd hate to replace the wrong part by accident. If that ends up being the case then I'll post the results on here.

Until then though, if you have any other ideas that I can try please let me know!!!!!!!!!

*EDIT* Also, I just noticed that on my router settings (accessed via a webpage on my laptop) it says that my desktop (PC name: DEJARNETTE) is active which I assume means it is connected to the router. (It also says that my wireless usb stick (PC name: new-host) is active. I've attached a screenshot of this as well as I have no idea what this means. It seems as though my router recognizes my PC but my PC doesn't recognize my router and I have no idea what could cause that.

I think I might try another one of the Realtek drivers or at least delate the one you have from Device Manager then reboot and let Windows install it's own driver, after googling around on this subject everything seems to point to a driver problem of some sort.

If the eithernet adaptor was truely broken or ruined I doubt you would be showing the IP, default gateway and everything else as correct.

The ipconfig still looks normal to me other than the rogue DNS server where it should only be the default gateway which points to the router as the DNS server. I'm still not sure where that secondary DNS is coming from.

I would also consider uninstalling McAfee for testing purposes because something seems to be blocking the connection.

Ugh ok, so this is almost embarrassing but I guess I'm happy cause it seems as though I just got my internet to work. I've been fiddling around with just about everything and so I randomly decided to check my McAfee firewall settings. So I hit restore default settings and bam, the internet is suddenly working again. I'm shocked beyond belief. I know 100% that I did not change the settings but I do remember that my computer ran a scheduled virus scan the night of initial disconnection and apparently somehow the settings were changed in such a way as to deny me internet access. Thank you once again everyone for your help and for anyone that has similar problems, CHECK YOUR FIREWALL SETTINGS!

Which is interesting because I just posted for you to uninstall McAfee as it's famous for causing strange connection problems just like this. Glad you have it working again dejarnjc.

What I'd like to know is why this would happen out of the blue for no reason at all.
    McAfee Grrrrrrrrrrrr foowie!

This is one of the many reasons why I do not use any type of real time A/V.
