Windows bridge and xbox 360
My bridged wireless to wired connection to my xbox is consistently failing, and i haven't the faintest idea why. I have a netgear WGR614v6 router, my wired NIC card is:Intel(R) 82566DC-2 Gigabit Network Connection. and finally my wireless adapter is i think intell but no 100% heres what my device manager says USB Wireless 802.11 b/g Adaptor.
So heres what i have done, Shared the wireless connections with no connectivity for my xbox, undid sharing and BRIDGED the conn, Intermittent disconnects makes playing unplayable, friend recommended setting static IP for the devices on the network which is did, windows reverted some of the settings and now its FUBAR once again.
have since updated the firmware to change its nat from dynamic to cone(dont know what that means but understood from several forums its best for connectivity) and upnp enabled is the prime setup. I had to RE reconfig the static IP's but it dont seem to work, and only after i reset the modem and my bridge connection to static dose it work for any significant length of time.
Please I am a moderately techie so ANY help is appretiated.
PS i have forwarded the appropriate ports suggested on port forward.com to no avail. I have yet to come to a conclusion weather it is a poorly configured router or computer or x-box, my friend who has a masters in network administration seems to think the culprit is the bridge itself, I dont care i just want to be able to play again.
