    System can't connect to internet?

I am using a dial-up connection, meaning the computer is not connected when immediately after powered on.
I've noticed my copy of windows 7 can't connect to the net, but I can browse the internet through IE or firefox, weather gadgets and so on.
It won't just download updates, send feedbacks nor VALIDATE THE COPY OF 7!!!
    I get this message:
A problem occured when Windows tried to activate. Error code 0x80072EFD.
And it changes the wallpaper to black!! I feel like a criminal...
I beg some one to help!!!

which build? what Firewall software are you running if any? Do you get the same error message for updates, feedback and validation? If using a different build, what key are you using?

Lastly... go thru your services for MSupdates and and make sure all dependencies are not stopped/disabled

Now that you have disabled the Firewall service, try to go into the Windows 7 donwload page and request a new key :)
This should work out for you.
    Kind regards,

Make sure your date and time are correct in BIOS

I work for the training dept at a large computer corportation (name politely witheld) and we have windows 7 installed on a desktop and one of our portables. We had this exact same issue along with the problem that IE refused to load any webpages, in spite of the network and sharing center showing as being connected with internet access. We attempted a Windows update to solve the issue via entering the website url in the search bar in Computer (did ya know you could do that?) which oddly enough will work in an IE window that opens and take you to the page you have typed in. However, we got the same error 0x80072EFD. Upon research, we discovered that the time was correct but the date was not as we had cleared the CMOS settings prior to the 7 install. As soon as we changed the date in the BIOS to the correct one and then in Windows itself, IE8 immediately connected and now works. Worth a shot if you haven't tried it.
