    DNS issues

I have two networks running on my win xp machine(s). I have set two IP's using the Advanced settings.

The first network is DHCP enabled(Switch takes care of that), i have put static IP's to avoid confusion. The second network is a link from a data feed.

It works like a charm in windows xp.. I installed Win 7 Pro 32bit in a test machine, did the same configuration and things are going crazy....i experience dns drops, i can't connect to any of my shared folders? any idea on how i can go about it?

Sorry, but your post confuses me. You said:

If DHCP is enabled, why are you assigning static IP?

What does the output of ipconfig /all look like:

Click on Start then Run and paste the following into the Run box, exactly as show, including double quotes:

    cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

    and press ENTER.

A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close.

    Fix DNS Connection issues

I have been experiencing this problem for the last few weeks. And have now just found a security setting that seems to have fixed the problem

The FIPS setting needs to be set under the advanced security settings.

Open Manage YoUr Networks - highlight your network connection and then the properties. Select the Security tab and then advanced settings. Check the FIPS box is checked. Hope this helps.
