The user name or password is incorrect

I've done so much tweaking on my new Windows 7 Home Premium machine I'm a little confused.

1. Using "netplwiz", I have set "Users must enter user name and password to use this computer". With that checked my name comes up and I add my password.

If I don't have that option checked then I get the following message: "The user name or password is incorrect". I hit OK and then just enter password.

Is there a way to correct the original error message? I'd rather not have to log-on every time. Not worried about security at home.

I enter a "1" because I had additional question but thought I should work on them one at a time.

Followup - Was able to set Automatic login and all is well.
