Solved: Windows 7 RC1 can't connect to WLAN, Vista can

I have the strangest problem which has frustrated me for days now.

    The problem:

Windows 7 RC1 can't connect to my home WLAN, I have no problem connecting in Vista on the same machine. To make things stranger I can connect to other wireless networks in Windows 7 without problems.
My other laptop and all other computers in the house can access my wireless home network.

    I tried:

    - updating the network card's drivers in Vista, but they were up to date.
I then updated the firmware on my Linksys WRT54G (version 7) router to the latest official version. (My Linksys router is one of the few that is not supported by the open source alternative firmwares around for Linksys WRT54G routers)

I still can't connect. What should I do? This is driving me nuts!

Hardware: Dell Studio XPS 13 (XPS 1340)

Try a newer Windows 7 build.... Like 7229 (PM others for links). but what a weird issue....

EDIT: sorry for the lame suggestion on top there ^^^...
Did you try installing the Vista driver IN 7????? Coz that way do the trick... IF it doesn't work, install it with compatibility mode (right click the driver update>Properties>compatibility>check the 1st checkbox and select "Vista (SP1)" then check whether it works or not if not then go my above suggestion....

    solved (somewhat)

after I manually deinstalled the wireless network card windows 7 installed a driver from March instead of April 2009. This also did not help. So I manually installed the Vista driver from the DELL website (from 2008) and it works now.

    finally! :)
