Wireless Laptop not visable on Homesharing

    Hello,

Thanks in advance for any help on this. I purchased 2 new computers over the weekend. A PC running Win 7 Hm Prem connected via hardwire to my wireless route & modem & a laptop running Win 7 basic and connected wirelessly to my network. I have selected Homesharing on my PC but can not see the laptop either from my PC's homesharing window or the laptop seeing the homesharing network. I have tried turning off both firewalls and still no go. Thanks again!

Run Homegroup trouble shooter on all machines.

Thank you for the suggestion. Ran it twice on both PC & laptop & no go. I still can not see the homeshare group on my laptop. Any other thoughts?

Disable them or even uninstall them and try again. I use built in windows firewall
and MSE and no problems. Norton and Kaspersky are notorious for
    causing havoc with Homegroups.

I turned off everything on Norton on both computers, ran homegroup trouble shooter again (on both computers) & still no good. Any other thoughts before I uninstall Norton on both machines. I am sort of thinking it is on my PC rather than the laptop & therefore might try to uninstall on PC first??

I would uninstall. Even disabled, Norton tends to leave processes running.
Uninstall, reboot and check to see if Norton left anything behind.
For me, as soon as Kaspersky was gone, everything worked.
    It was like magic.

    Hello,

Did you run the Norton Removal Tool?
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product | Norton Support

Also, verify that the 2 computers have identical UserName and Password with Admin permission.

If you're using Windows built-in Firewall, makes sure to exclude files and printer sharing.

If you're still having issue, please provide an ipconfig /all of both computers and post them here.
Click on Start => in search box type cmd press enter. From the black screen, type the word ipconfig /all and press enter. Right click on the black screen or Command prompt then choose Select All and Paste the results here.
