Limited access issue

Hi there
I am using window 7 home primium 64bit on my Asus laptop.
I had connected the internet at 4 am, but I couldn't have connected the Internet from 9 am til now. The wireless network connection shows 'limited access'.
My roommates can access the Internet by their laptops and I'm using my iPod touch to write this now.
I believe there is no problem in Modem or router. It is not about security key issue, too. I was using the Internet even in the early morning.
It is very weird that the Internet doesn't work although I didn't do anything but shut down and turn on my laptop.
I have been searching websites but I couldn't have found the same problem like mine.

Please help me smart guys.

Hi Bravemarine1611,

Have you tried to disabled/enabled your Wireless connection. Click on Start => control panel => network and internet (or network and sharing) => network options => manage network connections, select your wireless network and right click on it, disable first then try to enable. Check your connections after.

Do you have a wireless Switch to turn on/off your wireless connection? Maybe a combination of Fn + F1 or F2 to enable your wireless connection?

Have you Power Cycled your devices in this order?

Any Firewall or Security software installed?

Remove and reconnect your wireless network profile, make sure that you type in the correct security key. http://www.home-network-help.com/del...s-network.html

one first step is to reset router by the reset button (or turn of at the mains leave off for a minute or two) at the same time reboot the pc

Hi there
very often this problem is caused because the DHCP on gthe router has "run out" of IP addresses. You sometimes see this in an office using a Wireless Router.

My workplace allows free uncontrolled use of the Internet via a Wireless Router -- you are allowed to connect your OWN laptops to this one. The company's system and network can only be accessed via Company laptops / desktops through their proxy server.

Sometimes when its busy you just can't get on --you'll get Limited access message until someone logs off.

Incidently when trying to re-connect you should use the ipconfig renew command to refresh your cache and stop the DHCP server trying to assign you the same IP address as before.

It's very unlikely that the problem has abything to do with the computer.
