    Internet Connection limited

A few months ago I installed Norton Antivirus. Immediately after I started using it I started having issues. I would try to open programs, usualy Firefox, and it won't open. Sometimes absolutely nothing would open and i would only be left to switch off the computer and restart. My subscription expired to Norton so I took the opportunity to switch to another antivirus. I switched to AVG and immediately after doing so absolutely nothing was capable of connecting to the internet, except for IE. I completely uninstalled and removed AVG. Problem remains. I've also disabled the Windows Firewall and still IE is the only program able to connect to the internet. I cannot find anything that is preventing these programs from connecting.

Hi DashMordecai. I had a similar problem some months ago: after uninstalling Norton Antivirus, I had no internet connection. To solve this, run a fix restore point. Then download Norton Removal Tool and run the aplication to uninstall your norton antivirus.

Thanks very much for the help. Unfortunately I ran the Norton Removal tool and also found and ran the AVG removal tool and the problem persists.
