    User Account Problem

    Hi all!

I was trying to secure some of my files on a shared computer and created a new user account with administrator privileges and named it "Daniel". After moving my files to this account, I discovered that these files could still be accessed by the other account named "bennett"(also an administrator account). I logged back onto "Daniel" and under the Users folder right clicked "Daniel", clicked Properties, clicked Security, and clicked Advanced. I denied access to this folder to "bennett", but after logging back on to "bennett" and clicking the ""Daniel" folder under Users, it told me I did not have access to that folder, but to gain access just click continue. I did so and was able to access the account. I logged back on to "Daniel" and further denied access to Administrator(bennett-pc) or something with a similar title. After doing this I was not able to gain access to any of my files even when logged onto Daniel.

However, I right clicked and restored access to this folder to "Daniel" (it told me it did not have an owner and that I could claim ownership of it) but that did not immediately give me access to the file folders contained within it. I have to right click and do the same to gain access to them. I don't mind having to go through and take ownership of all these folders manually, but the problem I'm having is I still cannot open the files within these folders. If I try to restore access to them (or take ownership), it adds a small lock symbol to their icons and when I try to open them it tells me access its denied.

This is turning out to be a big problem for me so any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Your problem is that an administrator cant deny another administrator access. If you want daniel secure the only way is to remove bennet from Admin or securing the folder with a 3rd party password app.
