    Standard User wifi-issue

    Hello,

    I'm baffled...

I'm sitting with my moms laptop, trying to make her life a bit more secure on the computer, so I've converted her admin-status to Standard User (amongst a few other basic stuff9. That's all very good, however now her Wifi is disabled uppon reboot.

Only if she logs in with the admin account she's online or if she flicks her Wifi on/off soft-button a few times it enables and let's her online with her Standard User.

I've looked high and low in the Windows Home Premium 64 bit installation, but cannot find anywhere to fix this issue.

Can any of you help me further?

    TIA,

Did you actually convert her user from admin to standard, or did you create a new user? If you converted it, and the default administrator account was never enabled, you may have created a bit of a problem on that computer.

What I did was to create a new admin user, log in with that and convert her from Administrator to Standard User.

The newly created admin-account is working as it should, but her converted profile is having that Wifi-issue. Strange...

What I recommend you try, since disabling and enabling the adapter works to fix the issue temporarily, is uninstall the driver through device manager, and then choose the option to "scan for hardware changes."
