    Stops Downloading

So, i got a new windows seven computer, its very fast compared to my old one, but everytime i try to download a large file (Maps for a certain game), in the middle of downloading, it stops. It doesnt freeze or crash it just stops downloading. This happens also when i try to download the maps using the built in downloader Ingame. The file i would like is here, The map-ancient_remains-1.0.pk3

Hi there SwampCecil and welcome to SF
The file is just 20MB and downloaded in under 10 secs.
Is that just that one file that didn't download for you or is it more like a general thing that your downloads crash?
    what browser are you using?
If you want i could upload said file to mediafire etc.

ok, see if you can get it from here

Ok, that worked. It isnt that file in general. Other files like more maps and some programs. I am using the default web browser, which i think is IE.
something i realized is that all the files i try to download are .ZIP files (.PK3 is simply a renamed .ZIP file used for games runnning IOtech3). The programs are also in a .zip

Well...there is no obvious reason why IE should break the download of zip like files. What is your AntiVirus solution? I wonder if the scanning process takes so long that IE times out?

AVG the latest free version. It also says when downloading: Smart screen filter has checked this file and found no threats. Report an unsafe download.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of AVG...there were a few incidences lately (they seem to have no decent QA in their update departement)
Of course there was no thread found since the files were perfectly OK.
Before I suggest to switch your AV I would try one more thing:

Let's take the file from before (since we know that one is safe)
    Files - DASPRiD's v9.4
Switch off your AV and see if this time it would download without a break

report back and we'll take it from there
