    Wireless help! Dell Inspiron 1545

    Hey all!
I have a fairly new Dell Inspirson 1545 and until now it was working fine. My wireless internet is now not working. It finds the network fine but then says that it cannot connect. It also will not troubleshoot. The adapter is on correctly and I know it is not the wireless router because other laptops in the house are using the same wireless. When hooked up wired through an Ethernet cable it works fine...
    Anyone know what's up?

Make sure that you have not inadvertantly turned off the wireless switch. You can also disable TCP/IPv6 in your adapter properies.

The first thing I would do is go into Device Manager, expand Network Adapters, right click on the Wireless adapter then select Uninstall. If asked, do not allow it to delete the drivers, you just want to delete the entry for the wireless device.

Reboot, Win 7 will rediscover the wireless device and reload the drivers. See if that helps, often does.

Click on Start then Run and paste the following into the Run box, exactly as show, including double quotes:

    cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

    and press ENTER.

A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close.

You have no connection to your wireless adapter at all. Please post a screen capture of your Device Manager window: A Preferred Method of Uploading/Posting Screen Shots

Also, please double/triple check to make sure the switch to enable your wireless is on.
