Browsers Not Working Behind New Router

I've never used a router before as I had the sole computer in the house. My daugter just got a new laptop so I bought and installed a D-Link DIR-825. I've set the time and I've installed the latest firmware.

Since installing the router, my browsers (IE and Mozilla Firefox) have been acting up. I can surf a couple web-pages and then it will give me a "Not Responding" message in the title bar. After 15-20 seconds, the browser resumes and is good for 4-5 web-pages before it does it again. This happens through my LAN connection and through my daughter's wireless connection. It does not occur on my PC if I go through my modem directly.

Can someone help me out please?

I would return the router and get a new one since it happens to both computers using a wired and wireless connection.

FWIW I've always had good luck with Linksys routers

Thanks guys. I returned the DIR-825 and bought a Linksys E1000. Everything is working fine now.
