Setting up a computer so other devices can use internet off of them

I did this with my vista laptop, but I can't find information on how to do it on 7. I'm trying to get my XBOX 360 to use my computer as a router basically.

Do you have 2 Ethernet cards on your laptop? OR are you connected wirelessly and wanna connect the xbox through wired Ethernet?

All you must do is go to your wireless adapter and right click go to properties and click the sharing tab, you will then share that connection and files with your wired Ethernet adapter.

Thats how it works with 2 wired cards, should work very similar. Im sharing my internet connection from this computer to one beside me via 2 onboard 10/100/1000 nic cards from my motherboard.

Thank you much. A little different from Vista, where you had to create a network.

you could also do a bridge. that is less work and less prone to variables such as, the windows firewall interfering with the xbox connection. a bridged connection acts like a DMZ to the main connection.

well some people have the windows firewall on by default and it blocks some outbound connections by default that xbox live needs. just trying to cover all angles :P
