Cable connected, but no network access

    Hello, everyone.

I have a problem with my new laptop with windows 7 ultimate on it. I tried to connect it to another PC on my workgroup using an existing ethernet switch.
The cable is connected normally. I've set the IPv6 address and disabled the IPv6. There's nothing wrong with the ipconfig result as well. But it says no network access on the status and I can get any connection (Received packets: 0)

    Some notes:
    - We don't have any domain, we just use workgroup.
    - There's no DHCP servers on our network, so I have to set the IP manually.

    Thanks.

"I've set the IPv6 address and disabled the IPv6."

    why disable IPv6?

    see article:
Windows 7 Homegroup IPv6 connection issues

pay special attention to '2. Verify relevant services'

Workgroup is similar--have you joined workgroup? can you access internet?

    OK, thanks for the respond.

The ip's are different correct not conflicting. What is the ethernet switch connected to and are both adapters enabled.
I'm sure that my IP is unique. I'm using an existing ethernet switch (one that have already serve well for my network). We have few connected PCs with different OS (some of them use Win7) and they are working well, except for mine.

All the required services are running without any problems.

Well, I disabled IPv6 because we don't use it. We have some computers with older version of Windows (Windows XP) and some variants of UNIX in our workgroup which don't support IPv6.

Also, I've set the appropriate workgroup from the start and have tried to restore it to default value and change it back, no result.
Unfortunately, we don't have any connections to internet (it's just a simple workgroup for us to share files among us) so I can't test whether I can connect to internet or not.

    Any suggestion?
