Hey guys, I gave a quick search on the forum to see if I could find something similar from what I'm experiencing but didn't come across anything.
Before I start I'll go over my setup I have a modem connected to a router, that has connected one PC (I'll refer this as the Mediaserver which I leave on 24/7 so I can access pictures, documents, movie, etc), a Ooma Telo (my VOIP), and a 5 port switch with two PC connected, a Western Digital TV Live for media streaming, and a original Xbox with XBMC, also for media streaming.
Now the problem I have is the Western Digital TV Live and Xbox occasionally won't be able to connect to the Mediaserver that I have on for 24/7. I get a "no network devices found" or "Cannot connect to remote computer" something close to that. The odd thing is the other PCs that are connected to the switch can access the Mediaserver perfectly fine while the Western Digital and Xbox cannot. I've attempted to reshare the folders I want to access using the Xbox or the Western Digital but that doesn't work. What does work is I'll have to reboot the Mediaserver when I want the said devices to connect. Any idea why media streaming devices have a harder time finding a shared PC than other PCs? I hope this post wasn't too hard to follow.
