    Where has my network gone?

I have 2 laptops and 1 desktop pc connected to my home network. The laptops are set to access a shared folder on the desktop pc. All are on the same workgroup.

The problem is that today, for no apparent reason, the network has 'disappeared'...none of the pc's can see each other, and I cannot ping between computers.

I have not consciously changed any settings, nor applied any updates. All was working OK last time I tried, but today it seems to have all fallen apart. I have tried rebooting each machine, but no joy.

The laptops cannect wirelessly to my Netgear DG834GT router, whilst the desktop is connected by ethernet. No machine is experiencing any problems connecting to the router (or the internet).

Any ideas what could have happened, or what I could do next to narrow down what the problem might be?

Hi and welcome. Lets start at the begining what OS's are all 3 running? 32 or 64 bit. What shares? only on desktop? can all 3 access Internet (like ping msn.com). Have you rebooted the router and the cable modem? Where do you get IP from your ISP, or the router? Is the ISp logon or not? We need aton of info before we can begin to help. It would probably help if you filled out your "my system specs" in user cp

    Waiting on info

    Thanks for the replies :)

It just so happens that I left the router unplugged overnight, and when I just switched it back on I can now see the network in its entirity Must have been a glitch in the router...

Will go ahead and update my system specs now, in case I have any future problems!
