    LAN Problem Please Help!


    I hav established LAN through a single cable between two PCs, no router no switch nothing..
    Works fine with 10 mb speed but
    when i switch the speed to 100 "Cable unplugged" notification is displayed...
    I want to use my LAN with 100 mbps
    on one PC there is win7 and the other PC is runnin on XP.....

    I never tried to network 2 computers directly without router, but my guess is that you should use a crossover cable as opposed to a normal one. That may fix your problem, but not completely sure.

    For now, try setting the adapter for each computer to auto-negotiate and see what happens.

    First welcome to Sevenforums.

    Is the cable Cat 5 or Cat 6? how do you switch between speeds? We could help you more if you filled out your "my system specs" in user CP

    man i have filled the system specs
    i have usd cross cable also...
