Windows 7 x64

did you download the latest MS updates?
I have a strong feeling that this problem is a bug in windows 7 and not a hardware problem.
it started on both my laptops at the same time, and it was solved on both my laptops just by deleting the WiFi and recreating it. meanwhile, I was downloading all windows updates as soon as they were released.

Win 7 Pro x64

I performed a low-level overwrite of the physical hard drive and then successfully reinstalled Windows 7, both 32-bit and 64-bit. I believe the problem was that Windows Installer was not fully destroying old partitions. To read the story (it's brief) see my post over in the Crashes and Debugging Forum.

Won't Shutdown on home wireless-N

I am having a similar issue where all of a sudden since December 2010 (I think post some windows updates) my computer when connected to my home router can no longer shut down.

This problem only happens at home where I have a Linksys wireless N router. I can't shutdown without holding down the power button. The screen logs out of windows 7, then stays on the "shutting down" screen. If left on for 15 minutes it then shuts itself down, reboots and says it recovered from a serious error and states the error as a BSOD.

This is also affecting my internal webcam which sometimes won't operate. It also affects the computer when switching between dedicated and non-dedicated video cards for power savings. Some times the computer just freezes when the power cord is unplugged. Also the SD Card drive sometimes has problems. All of this only happens on my home router. The computer is perfect when travelling anywhere.

I have an HP Envy 13, Windows 7 Pro 64bit, 5Gb Ram.

Like I said it was perfect for a year and then I think post a windows update it can no longer shutdown. Any thoughts? PLEASE HELP. I am so frustrated.
