    Can't connect to wireless

    Hello everybody.

I just got an HP Touchsmart IQ524. I installed Windows 7 32 bit, and now I can't connect to my wireless.
To make everything worse, a friend let me try his wi-fi adapter, and with it everything works fine.

I went to HP.com, and there's no driver for the wireless, just a Realtek update, which I ran. Before running it, I got the message "the passphrase is incorrect", after running it, now it just tells me it can't connect, without even asking for the password.

I also tried (as suggested in another thread), resetting winsock, with no results.

    Can anybody please help me?

    Thanks in advance. :)

What does Device Manager show for Network Adapters? Any yellow marks?

Try Updating Drivers and Software with Windows Update

Since the computer is new (still under warranty), it would be a good idea to contact HP, see what they have to say.

Sorry, I should've been more specific.

I bought the computer used, so no warranty.

All the drivers in the device manager show to be working properly. I did update the network driver, and it didn't make any difference.

Thanks for the replies. I finally figured it out. Just so happens the ADAPTER was malfunctioning (that computer has a USB adapter built in, that you can unplug if needed). I got another one from the guy that sold it to me, and now everything works fine.
