Media Streaming - Delay/Buffering

I am currently trying to stream media from a PC with Windows Home Server installed. (Hi-Def Movie 9.6GB) to a Linux XBMC machine, with boggy results/delay's and buffering delays.

The spec on the HomeServer Dual-Core with 4gb of RAM. 2TB HD. Currently alongside this my old machine. I can stream media successful from an XP PC (Single-core ~ 4gb of RAM). with no delays/buffering.

Any ideas/suggestions as to why this is happening?

Nothing has changed with my home network (all devices are hard-wired), and traffic flows through my router.

Thanks in advance.
