wireless connectivity problems after windows update

I put in a new desktop with Win 7 a week ago. I upgraded the wireless adapter at the same time. It was working fine until the next day after an auto win update of 30 items. Ethernet works fine and a MAC and Vista laptops still connect fine. I have talked to adapter support and the internet service provider (AT&T Uverse) who provide the router. Uverse actually sent me a new adapter which was gtd to work with Win 7 by only loading Win driver. Same problem. It appears to all that WAP is fine and adapters work. The adapter sees network but it will not "connect successfully" and shows "limited access" which in reality there is none at all. Do I need to uninstall all the updates and reinstall one by one to find the problem?

Yes, I went to Restore but the earliest restore date I was offered was for the day after the updates were downloaded. How does one easily restore (replace) with the Win version in the disk?

Are you using a 3rd party connection manager software to wireless connect? If you do, you'll need to disable the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) for XP or WLAN Auto Config for Vista or 7 from Control Panel's Services. If not, the WZC needs to be Started.
Click on Start=> Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools\Services

Also, verify that all your network services are Started from Control Panel=> switch to Classic View then Admin Tools=> Services:

• DHCP Client
• DNS Client
• Network Connections

I do not believe I am using third party connection manager software. I have confirmed that WLAN autoconfig is started - I am using Win 7.

I have verified that all of my network services are started from control panel.

You might want to start by getting rid of all those extra tunnel adaptors. They can cause all sorts of connection and sharing problems.

You should run this tunnel adaptor remover first. Too many of these indicates a driver problem and it will also ruin your connection if there are too many of those tunnel adaptors. This problem happens all the time. Click and save the zip file, then run the zip file and reboot.

After that, if you are still having connection problems please repost your ipconfig /all and we can go from there.

I could not download the link - I think it was truncated in email. I did find instructions on how to eliminate extra tunnel adapters through device manager/view/hidden devices. There was 1 item I could not uninstall - isatap. {096F05AD-6467-40D7-853F-2C19C3A6DCB5}, which had an exclamation caution sign on it.

The ipconfig /all info of your Win 7 doesn't show any network adapters listed.
Let's verify something, from your Windows 7 computer, pls. go to Device Manager, locate Network Adapters, expand it, do you see the Wi-Fi and integrated Network Adapters here? Any of these symbols ( ? X or ! ) on it?

Also, let's try this way to get the ipconfig /all from your Win 7 computer.
Click on Start => in search box type cmd press enter choose Run as Admin. Open up a command prompt then Copy and Paste these ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt . Please attach the .txt file to be found in your Local Disk 'C' on your next post

The network adapter is listed. At this point I am going with the netopia adapter AT&T sent me to deal with the problem. It is designed to run with the native drivers in Win 7 and Vista. It is now shown to be using MS driver version 4.0.0.15. For the time being I have deleted the previous adapter drivers and the tunneling adapter. There are no ? or !.

I get nothing when I follow your instructions for getting the IPconfig.txt file. I run cmd in admin mode (It gives me a c:\Windows\system32> prompt). I also cut and pasted that command line into my Vista laptop and I also get nothing.

The ipconfig.txt is located in your Local Disk 'C' and you may attach the file on your next post.
