I bought a Windows 7 laptop that I can connect to the wireless network and access the internet just fine but I can't see either of the two XP machines or the printers attached. They all have the same workgroup name. Can you suggest anything I can try?
Yes, you'll want to go into your network settings: Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button

, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, then click on
Change Advanced Sharing Settings. There you will want to enable sharing and network discovery, etc. It has two sections of settings, one for a private home network and another for public or workplace network. Decide which you have and make the changes in the correct section. If you aren't sure then just make the changes in both sections.

I'll be honest, I'm not too familiar with xp. Or is the Toshiba the Win 7 computer you're talking about?
