Offline files - .TMP files generated
Reopening old thread "Hi there,
I have redirected "documents" folder to point our local storage.
Two windows 7 ultimate computers are connected to same location ex.: \\file-server\common-files\
When "computer1" save word, excel, or power point files in \\file-server\common-files\test\test.doc "computer2" see that file with the name like HU87GH.TMP
The file size is correct, however, the file remains unusable from computer2.
What could be the problèm?
Many thanks for your time."
My comment : I have the exact same problem, please advise. On our side the .tmp files is for some users the only thing left on the server share and files are gone missing if computer is reinstalled or in one scenario gets stolen. This is urgent. Could it help in some way to exclude *.tmp from being cached? It seems only office documents has this issue and I'm guessing this has something to do with the way office handles changes in documents. We are getting scared that we have a bigger problem than we know in our enterprise. Kind regards
