Win7 to WinXP LAN Internet connection wireless sharing

Hello all...
I have a laptop running Windows 7 and a netbook running winXP.
The laptop is ethernet connected to the internet.
I have created an ad-hoc network using the laptops wireless card
and then joined that using the netbook wireless.

Is there a way to give internet access to the netbook through the ad-hoc network?

so i guess you have 2 wireless cards, one on every station...

on the host, put these settings in TCP/iPV4:
IP: 192.168.0.1
SM: 255.255.255.0
DG:192.168.0.2 (other's pc ip)

and, on the client, put these:
IP: 192.168.0.2
SM: 255.255.255.0
DG:192.168.0.1 (other's pc ip)
+
Lookup your ip address, the one that connects you to the wired internet, and enter it in the Preferred DNS field, on client machine, so:
DNS: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

also, you have to share your wired connection and allow it to be used by other connections

have fun

It sounds to me like you already joined the network so you should have connectivity already?

If not, you can try using connectify which uses the msoft wifi virtual mini port to set up a wireless network on your laptop for your netbook to connect too.

Thanks for the replies . @maranello if are kind enough, explain please how to share the wired connection in Windows 7 because There is no ICS option for the wired connection. @chev65 Connectify seems to be a solution. I ll post my results after i test it.

Connectify works. I am up and running.Thanx. But isnt there a way to do it without using connctify or similar utils? I mean , does windows have a virtual router embedded??? Because the final conclusion is that connectify installs a virtuall router. Last question is why doesnt a simple bridge between the two network interfaces do the trick?

Right Click on the wired connection > Properties > Sharing (tab)

but i guess we use different configurations, and perhaps my solution will not work for you...
