latency test error on speedtest.net

Can someone do a speedtest using the server in New York, NY?
I've been getting an latency error everytime. Other servers work fine and the one in New York worked before. It's the one that's nearest my house, so that's what I generally use.

However, I suffer considerable and consistent lag spikes while gaming...

using speedtest.net to check speeds
Comcast is my cable/internet provider. I recently upgraded my up/down speeds. I if let speedtest choose it's own server based on ping (which is around 35~40) my speeds are not that great. Speedtest Gadget
Whatever you do, do not download and install this gadget. It's a rip off. It costs $50-$100 for the list of features. I paid $50 for the entire Windows 7. I would never pay $50 for a gadget.
