networking problem with xp 64 bit and 7 machines on same network
my first post here.
Okay my problem is that i have 4 machines on my network
1 has windows 7 64 bit and 3 have windows xp 64 bit
network is working like charm right now. but i have a slight problem.
my xp 64bit to xp 64 bit accessing and sharing is perfect both ways. but there is problem in xP and windows 7 connections. i can ping each other (xp machines are able to ping windows 7 one and vice versa)and also i am able to access all shared folders /drives on my xp machines, from my windows 7 machine. but i am not able to access any drive or folder on my windows 7 machine , from any of my xp machines .
i have really tried to search for this on the net but nothing seems to solve the problem.
i also tried adding authenticated users in security settings by right clicking folders
or i tried sharing folder using right click >share with> specific people/home users etc. also when i try using the second solution i right click>share with specific people and click on done after adding everyone or any user it still shows me a lock sign next to the folder which means not shared. so there is some problem somewhere with share/permission settings.
nothing is solving my problem and i am stuck.
can anybody please help me with this problem
