Windows 7: Wireless Network Disconnecting

I have basically the exact same issue on an HP 6710b laptop. It happens with both the wireless connection, and the bluetooth connection (tethered to my phone). My fix so far has been to disable and re-enable the network adapter. It seems to be somewhat more stable if I have a ping running constantly. I have not tried the tuning and disabling IPv6 yet. I will try that now and report back.

For me having ping running didn't help anything. It just let me know when the connection failed. I hope the tuning thing works for you.

Hey guys,

I've been having a similar problem with an Asus PCI WL-138G wireless network card in a desktop running W7 RC 7100. Intel CPU + Asus P5Q series M/B.

I'll try the ppp method.... thanks for the help.

I was having the same problem and it turned out to be the frequency that my router was broadcasting was being interfered with by my cordless phone. I went in the router and changed the frequency that was being broadcast and no more problems.

Ok looks like i never reported back. My bad. Turning off vista auto tuning as described in the link above seems to have reduced the number of disconnections a great deal. In my case the router wasn't causing the problem because I had the same issue in multiple locations.
