Win 7 sharing driving me CRAZY!!

    Hi All,
I have a small home network with one Win 7 64bit computer.
On this computer i have one user "jeff" and the default "public" user.
I want to share the music files that are located under the public user. However, everytime i go to do this all my personal documents, folders, etc on the "jeff" user can all be seen and opened by XP computers on my network.

Now when i right click all these folders and go to sharing they all show the padlock and say "nobody". In fact the entire Jeff user under c:/users shows a padlock and says share with nobody.

Yet every time i go to advanced sharing and turn on file sharing and public folder sharing. EVERYTHING in the personal users folders is exposed.

I have been thru this a dozen times and same result every time. I even tried using the sharing wizard instead to setup the shared music folder and same thing. Driving me crazy. Either everything for all users is shared or nothing.

I think i may have figured it out. It seems that when you turn sharing on it automatically defaults to share the top level "users" folder including everything in all users under this folder, public or not. Even if the individual users and user folders are locked and set to share with nobody, they are still shared if the parent "users" folder is shared. So i think by unsharing the default "users" and only sharing "public" under users, it may have fixed this.
What a horrible default setting to have...
