Cannot connect to Media Center Extender (Xbox 360)

I have been tearing my hair out for 2 days now trying to figure this out.

All I want to do is connect my xbox 360 in my living room to my xbox through Media Center and watch some movies on my computer on my living room TV.

But it simply is not working. I get the error "Cannot Set up Extender" every single time i input the code into my computer that my xbox gave me.

But, my dad's computer (windows 7 ultimate x86, connected to the network with ethernet JUST LIKE ME) works perfectly fine and connects instantly. And so does my netbook with the same OS but on wifi

I have been doing everything that google has been telling me through my search results. I have so far narrowed it down to a problem with my computer.

One problem I've been noticing is when I go on my windows firewall and enable programs, Media Extenders is always unchecked! I check it off on private and public and then try connecting again, it doesnt work, and then it gets unchecked again! I have also tried turning off my firewall and uninstalling Kaspersky from my computer. No help.

So, does anyone have any insight?

Hi,
I did a google search and came up with this...See if it helps...If not and you would like to look for other possible solutions, go to Google and type in "cannot setup extender"...

You tried to set up your Xbox 360 console as a Media Center Extender. However, the Setup program did not start, so you cannot install the Media Center Extender for Xbox 360.

Note When you run the Setup program, your computer may experience a spike in the CPU usage because a process called DVCSetup.exe is using a high percentage of the CPU capacity.

To have us fix this problem for you, go to the "Fix it for me" section. If you’d rather fix this problem yourself, go to the "Let me fix it myself" section.

Hi

My Windows Media Centre was streaming to my xbox no problem at all and then one day...it stopped! The guys at xbox support (who have been exceptional by the way) sent me this post. I've followed the instructions (both FixIt and DIY) but now, I'm confronted with 'ERROR: Access is denied'.

I am the only user of the machine, have full rites and there were no typos.

Any ideas what could be happening here?

Cheers for your help guys : )
