Windows 7: Streaming W7 to W7 - Recorded TV not working

I setup my laptop and home media center to use internet streaming via WMP. That all works and I can stream music and videos (like .avi).

However, my Recorded TV (WTV- not hi def) files won't stream. They aren't copy protected. In WMP when I browse media it has a little blue icon and when I hover over it it says that it is a unrecognized file type (which is a joke since it is a Microsoft invented file type).



When I try to play them, it just puts it in the playlist and does nothing for a while and gives a message that it cannot play the file. Any ideas why these files don't work?
