Smartphone as modem
Until recently my smartphone could be used as a modem by simply pressing 'share internet connection' on the phone itself. 10 seconds later I could check email with my laptop.
Now that I have upgraded to windows 7 it does not connect any longer. Errors like 'no valid IP configuration' pop up. The same phone still works 'plug and play' as an internet modem when connected to linux systems. (The laptop is dual boot.)
Can somebody please explain on how to make windows 7 accept this connection.
I am thinking of:
- I need different 'modem' drivers (NDIS? samsung Omnia Querty?)
- I need transfer this connection from public to home or office
Who does recognize the problem and can come up with a proper 'howto'.
Thanks a lot!
A solution would safe me from rebooting many times when traveling.
