Can't connect my Xbox to my router

Can't connect my Xbox to my router
I've just brought a new router.

It is a Tenda W311R Wireless N Cable DSL Broadband Router

But I can't connect it to my Xbox 360 S

I've managed to add my PC, Laptop, and PS3 to my home network without any difficulty however.

I've encrypted my home network with WPA2 as recommended by Microsoft.

These are the steps I took when trying to add my xbox 360 S console to my home network:

    1. On the console I went to My Xbox
    2. Then System Settings.
    3. Network Settings
    4. Scan for Networks
    4. My router was listed so I selected it
    5. I then entered my WPA2 wireless password
    6. Then I selected Test Xbox Live Connection.

The console then said it couldn't coonect to my wireless network.

I was thinking that the Xbox 360 S console’s built-in Wi-Fi uses the 2.4 gigahertz frequency band. Maybe my router is broadcasting using another frequency... But I have yet to check what that frequency is...

Other than that, I really don't know what the problem could be. As I said, I've have no problem connecting my other devices to this issue does strike me as odd

A Mac address is often refereed to as a Physical address and is only assigned once by the manufacturer during manufacturing of the device. Yes I know there are ways to change what it looks like your mac is but that shouldn't be necessary to connect an xbox.

For the OP have you tried connecting to xbox through a wired connection?
