ipconfig ?

Hi
I need my MAC address so I tried ipconfig\all and / wont do it. Found a list of commands but ipconfig.exe flashed the black dialogue and whisks it away immediately.

I am supposedly running this workstation as admin,... but you can never be sure

All help appreciated
Cheers Chris

Start -> Run -> "cmd" [Enter] -> ipconfig /all [Enter]

If you don't see the Run on the start menu, just hit Win+R

start -> cmd (run as admin) then the popup stays
ipconfig /all = gives you all the info
ipconfig /? gives you all the commands.
ipconfig /reset = reset your IP

this is an easy one. in search type cmd, then when the dos windows comes up type ipconfig /all (thats ipconfig>space>/>all). if you are behind a router you will probably get something 192.168.1.102 thats a local address.

Hope this helps and if you need more feel free.

Crickey! That was fast. They all worked. Just recovering from a crash so have been installing for quite a while and it is making me muzzy.

Thank you all for the replies!

Right click on Command prompt to run as Administrator, then type ipconfig /all, press enter.

Thank you for the right click tip. I pinned the command prompt icon to the main taskbar. When I right click on the cmd icon, I am sent to C:\users\username> The ipconfig command works from this location. Apparently, Win 7 security measures have been installed to make it more difficult for a stealth intruder to cause mischief.

Thanks again!!!
