    homegroup

I have a homegroup on 3 different computers all running windows 7.
but for some reason I can't access folders on one computer from the other. Only the folders that are by default accessible such as users and public but I don
t want to move files to that folder anytime I want to move files between computer I want to share my own folders
When I share my own folders I check the box with the full control, but when I try to access the folder from a different computer I get
"you don't have permission to access \\COMPUTER NAME\NAME OF FOLDER. Contact your network administrator to request access"
as I said I did do Full Control on the folder in question and it didn't help. and the same happens in every folder I try to share on all the computers from all the computers.

Let's confirm some things; in Windows Explorer, right click the folder you want to share, pick share with then HomeGroup read/write. That should have included that folder in the folders available on the other computers in HomeGroup.
If not try share with, then specific people. In the box with the drop down, pick Homegroup. Then in the box below that in the drop down pick read/write, then at the bottom right, click on share. This is just another way to do it. The folder should appear in the HomeGroup on the other computer(s) for that computer. If this doesn't work, you may be beyond my experience but check back and let us know.

I have similar problem here, running windows 7 on laptop and desktop. I can do it all up to being able to share folders from each machine. They can see each other and that's as far as it goings, Have looked around the net heaps but so far no luck for a fix. I have a suspicion that when I had my decktop built I never got wireless installed as at that time it wasn't required. Since then I have put a wireless N adaptor on my desktop and even though it works on the wireless router it looks like there is a lock image on the router. I'm thinking that until I can get it unlocked I won't be able to finish off the homegroup setup
