Windows 7 - Domain Administrator has no local Administrator Rights

I've just reinstalled my laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate edition for 32bit architecture, and updated it to Service Pack 1.

Once my laptop was fully updated, I joined it to my Windows 2003 domain and set about installing software, starting with Office 2007. This is where I ran into problems with my domain account not having high enough privileges to run the installer. That being the case, I logged in using my domain's Administrator account but encountered exactly the same problem.

As it currently stands, the only way I can get full access to my local machine is to log in using the local account that was created when I installed the OS.

How do I go about ensuring that the domain Administrator account has unfettered access to my local machine?
