Ethernet connection dropping
I have moved to a new home but the new phone line will not be able to be installed until 1st April. For the moment, I am using a D-Link DAP-1160 repeater to access my parents internet a few streets across. The repeater is set up in the bedroom window and is working fine most of the time, but it drops almost immediately when I start a torrent.
The only way to get it back is to switch off the D-Link and turn it back on, or remove the ethernet cable from it and plug that back in. The only thing is, my missus laptop is still working fine while connected wirelessly even while mine is down. This ONLY happens while using the ethernet cable as well. Torrents run fine with a wireless connection but it is so slow. Can anyone help with this?
