Windows 7: Wireless connection gives high ping during download.

Greetings,

I have since now 3 weeks problems with my wireless.
The connection towards the router is failing each time i download something above the 10 mb or going to play a game that requires allot of speed (like Eve Online).
The ping towards my router goes from <1 to 6000+

I only have this problems on the 64bit version of windows 7 while my brother who uses the 32bit has not this problem and we are on the same router using the same wireless dongle namely a Netgear WNA3100.

The router is currently in G mode because of my problems ( i have no connection whatsoever when in N mode)

I already have updated all the drivers to their latest version.
I have only the windows firewall and a Mcafee antivirus scan without their firewall.
My router is the Only router around the channels 9 - 15 (its on 11) so its not disruption.

I hope that someone has a solution for this.
