Hi Asem and welcome to SF.
Read this tutorial and see if it helps- Internet Troubleshooting Guide[2]=Networking Internet

Also see- Unidentified Networks - Set as Private or Public[2]=Networking Internet
    Hope this helps.

Additional info: my modem is a router also, and i think it's not the cause of the problem because i'm working now on my father's laptop connected to the same wireless network, and it's working very good as u can see lol
but i believe that the (ip) is the main cause, as (no ip address) shows when i go through the settings.

    Back..
I tried each step in the two threads, but didn't work
this is weird! there is a valid IP address though it was saying that 'there's no valid ip address'
hmm, maybe this one fixed, but still! nothing changed (no network access).

How about a modem reset, do u think it's a good idea? (this will reset all settings and passwords etc..)

    Hi Asem,

    Please try these recommendations:

    Try a Power Cycle:
    http://www.ehow.com/how_2364116_powe...-computer.html

Remove the existing wireless network profiles, then reconnect to your network, make sure to key in the correct encryption key.
Easy Way to Delete Wireless Network Profile in Windows 7

If that didn't work, try removing your network security from the router, test the connection after. You may try a very low Security, called WEP.

    Please let us know.

    Hi 2xg,
i didn't try the (power cycle) thing, actually i'm a bit lazy to do it lol
but i tried removing networks, changing to WEP security 'also tried with no-security'.. but didn't fix it
so i'm thinking of formatting the c drive, i guess it's the only effective option left for this unpredictable problem.
thank u guys very much for ur support :)

    IP conflict.

You may have also Inputted a IP without willingly knowing it. Go into there property's of the lan card and click on the TCIP 4, If there are numbers there Click on the use DHCP.
