    zip corruption

I am a mac user and I own a site that has downloads available for purchase. They are zip files with psd's in them. I have two windows 7 clients who can download the entire file and unzip it and everything show up except the psd files.

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to why this is happening.

    Thanks!

Welcome Paigeypar to the windows 7 forums.

There is the possibility that the .psd files that you created are not compatible with the intel version of photoshop.
or, your zip program is only zipping up the fork files and not the data files. Not being a mac person, I do remember from my mac days that the mac uses two files to make a pair, one being the resource fork and one being the data fork. Most pc's ignore the resource fork and only use the data fork.

    Hope this helps

wow - I assumed since I have an intel mac that there wouldn't be any compatibility issues in this day and age. I will try to create the zip on a pc and see what happens....

    Thanks!

I wonder why this is not a constant problem on the scrap and photog download sites out there.....

Are you making the zip files, or are they coming from someone else? I'm going to guess that the psd files aren't in the archive.

    Thanks for your help

The psd files are definitely in there. Most people download it with no problem and they are in there. Also, we have tested it on 5 computers and it works for all of us. Also, the files are to big to just be a text file and one small jpeg....

Send me a link (via PM) to one of the problem files and I'll see if I have any issues with the psds.

Probably because you are a new poster. You probably need a minimum number of posts before you can send a PM.
