Internet Connection Issue
This is probably a trivial problem and easily solved so I am sorry for troubling people here with it but it is driving me to distraction.
I recently moved house and changed internet service providers (from Orange to BT, for those familiar with the UK). Setting up my new homehub (the modem provided by BT) was easy and I was online in minutes.
However, every morning when I get up and switch on my computer it will not connect to the net. Hovering over the icon it says "Unidentified network, no internet access"). Restarting everything several times over eventually resolves the problem and I can get online but I cannot fathom what is causing the problem. I cannot even discover any particular order of switching off or switching on which works consistently.
The only thing I have noticed (and I am not even sure this is connected to the problem) is that when I get online, if I hover over the internet icon it says "Network 3" rather than just "Network".
Is there some procedure to resolve this issue or at least to discover what the real problem is?
