Hi all,
I have a Toshiba C655-S5049, running Win 7 Home Premium 64bit, with an Atheros AR9285 wireless card (though the problem remains when I disable that and plug in an old Belkin Wireless G USB adapter).
Connecting to my network takes about 2 minutes; it will say connected but no internet works. In addition, once it does connect, it only works properly for several (maybe 15-20 tops?) minutes, and then everything stops. Websites will not load, online games slow down to a crawl/drop, and the computer in general gets very laggy. If I try to open Task manager or network and sharing center or anything, I must wait for it to come up. After about a minute or two of lag, it suddenly starts working again for another short while. WLAN optimizer doesn't seem to help at all. The
drivers for my card are up to date.
Ubuntu on this same laptop works perfectly with even the default options/drivers it found. My room mate owns a Mac and that and my other Mac-owning friends' internet works flawlessly as well. I have this problem at home as well.
I am getting really fed up with this, and in the process of switching over to Ubuntu for good. I am hoping I can get some help with this and save myself some learning to use WINE. Has anyone found something to help this issue?
Thank you
