    Connection timeout

    Hello:

I see in a few places that the connection timeout time for FIrefox 4 cannot be changed in Firefox itself, but in Windows 7 (64-bit) registry. If that is correct, could anyone know where and how?

I also wonder if there are anywhere in Win7 to set the number of connection tries before timeout? I am asking because I do not know much about these things, but I used "tracert" and made about 10 hops, and then, another about 8 connection tires before I finally connected to the site to which I cannot connect normally in FF4 (support.vonage.com) Most other people have no problems (including my wife on the same local network, with Win 7 but Firefox 3.16).

    Grateful for tips.

    Regards,

    Hi Hans L,

I myself am running Firefox 4 and the website you provided loaded for me no problem, in fact it was pretty speedy.

Is the problem consistent across all browsers (ie, have you tried it with Internet Explorer?) or is it specifically Firefox?

    Hello Severed:

Same problem with IE. It must be something on my computer, but I have no idea what. Figured I would try increasing the timeout time and/or the number of tries base on the "tracert" test.
