My Skype is working, but my internet browser isnt.

Hi, my Skype is the only one working on my laptop. All the others (yahoo messenger, internet browser, google chrome, firefox) arent. Although, when I connect it directly to the modem, it works fine. When I use our wireless connection with a router, the Skype works but my internet browser and yahoo messenger doesnt. Did my dad tweak with the router? Is that possible? Please I need help, thank you

    Welcome to SF,

Please try these recommendations in this order, you may stop and there's no need to continue if it works:

Check the browser's settings, remove or uncheck any proxy settings if found.

Make sure that Obtain DNS server address automatically is enabled.

    Hi bahilog,

Can you please post an ipconfig /all for review? Here's a tutorial.
Also, what type of Security Software do you have installed - McAfee, Norton, Webroot, etc...?

I had the same problem for many months trying to connect to any Wi-FI and it does not work.

Finally, I went to Wireless Network Connection Properties, Interet Protol version 4, and I found, by mistake I have give "User the following DNS server address with some IP"

When I made it Obtain DNS server address, Internet started workign through WI FI
