RDC Sharing question....is this possible?

I've got a Windows 2008 Server with Windows 7 and Windows XP workstations logging in to via Remote Desktop Connection.

Our users have some proprietary software they use and, at times, they need to make PDF files out of reports. We were considering using the functionality where the client's local drives are accessible in the Remote Desktop session. We were thinking of mapping a network drive on the remote session back to their Documents folder on the client machine.

What I'd like to know is if there's a way to make the mapped drive back to they Documents folder be smart enough to find it's way if they RDC in from a computer with a different operating system. Some of our people have two computers, a laptop for travel and a desktop in the office. If a Windows 7 user has his remote session map a network drive back to his Documents folder, that works fine until he logs in from, say, his laptop that runs XP, as the Documents folder path is different for each OS.

Is there a way to make the mapping back to the local Documents folder be dynamic enough to adjust it's path when the user logs in from a different machine?
