DNS Sever Problem!!

Every time I restart my computer, my IPv4 Ethernet adapter properties get reset to use the localhost (127.0.0.1) as the preferred DNS server.

I think this stems from having DynDNS updater previously installed (which I believe changes the DNS server address to point back at itself, although I may be wrong).

I have since uninstalled DynDNS and need to use different DNS servers to keep my sync partnerships and network folders active.

With this in mind I have to re enter the correct DNS server addresses each time I restart my computer, and then log on / off in order to reactivate my network sync partnerships.

Does anyone know what may still be causing this problem / how to stop it?

I am using Windows 7.

Cheers.

Hi James, I have OpenDNS servers entered in my Netgear router. DNS Updater is installed on my wire connected & Laptop PC's.
Registering with OpenDNS is quick & free.
DNS Updater is found on the 'Support' tab once registered.
