Windows 7: Wireless Card Causes Computer Suttering

Wireless Card Causes Computer Suttering

In the past I have posted asking about what causes my computer to stutter.

Recently I've tracked it down and can attribute it to my wireless card, specifically in a low signal area when it begins searching for new connections constantly.

Anyone have a fix for this? A way to shut down the card's ability to search for new networks (without stopping my current one) or something?
