Printer sharing from Ubuntu
Prior to buying a new system my partner printed her work from XP to my USB connected printer on Ubuntu 10.04 on my home network.
The printer was shown as Stylus-Photo-R265 on http://192.168.1.2:631 and worked perfectly. Since switching the workgroup to "WORKGROUP" to let it network with our Windows 7 system it will not print. That is not however the problem.
I dual boot Ubuntu & Windows 7 on my system and have set to share Photos, Printer and Documents in Windows 7. When I open my partners system and attempt to print the printer is showing up on her system as being on MY system. I have attempted to change the information in the printer settings in order to have it connect to the Ubuntu Cups Print settings without any luck. It appears that the settings are locked to those in my systems Windows 7 settings.
Ubuntu is my prime OS and if printing can be done whilst I am working on my matters it would be ideal.
Can anyone please tell me how I can effect the change to the http://192.168.1.2.:631 arrangement as this will let my partner print without me needing to change my OS to suit her needs.
Thanking you in anticipation.
